Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party in Nigeria, has denied allegations made by the United States chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that he sponsored a protest against the outcome of the 2023 presidential poll.
The protest took place opposite the US White House and was against the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, who the USA APC Chairman, Professor Tai Balofin, claimed had won the free and fair election.
Balofin accused Obi of sponsoring the protest and warned that the US government was not supporting it, as anyone can get approval for a peaceful protest.
However, Obi has denied the allegations and stated that he has not sponsored anyone to do anything. He added that he has urged his supporters to remain calm and follow the rule of law as he seeks to reclaim his mandate through the court process.
