Just In: Former Anambra Governor, Chinwoke Mbadinuju, Dies At 78

Former Anambra State Governor, Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju, has passed away at the age of 78.

According to a statement issued on behalf of the family by Chetachi Mbadinuju (Esq), the former governor died on Tuesday morning at the National Hospital Abuja, after a brief illness.

Mbadinuju served as the Governor of Anambra State from May 29, 1999, to May 29, 2003, on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He was born on June 14, 1945, and obtained a BA in Political Science, a doctorate in Government, and a law degree from one of the best English universities.

Before entering politics, he was an associate professor of Politics and African Studies at the State University of New York and served as the personal assistant to President Shehu Shagari from 1980 to 1983.
