Rivers State was plunged into a state of mourning on Good Friday as unknown gunmen attacked a police checkpoint in the Marine Base area of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area. The attack resulted in the death of a police officer, leaving the community in shock and fear.
The motive behind the attack is still unknown, and the perpetrators are yet to be identified. The State Commissioner of Police, Effiong Okon, has ordered his men to immediately track down the criminals responsible for the attack.
