Falz Makes Powerful Statement, Reveals What He Tells People Why He’s Not Afraid Of His Actions

Nigerian hip-hop artist, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has revealed his response to people who question his fearlessness when it comes to his confrontational music.

In a recent interview with Arise TV, Falz explained that the kind of life Nigerians are living is not meaningful, and they are already fading away.

He made this statement while featuring on the programme ‘Music as a Socio-political Tool,’ on the heels of his latest song with his colleague, Vector – ‘Yakubu,’ named after the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.

In the song, Falz and Vector called out INEC, its chairman, and other political parties allegedly involved in electoral malpractices in the just-concluded general elections.

Falz explained that he would rather go down fighting for a just cause than remain silent and die from the failed system of the country.

When asked how he manages to confront issues without fear of consequences, Falz responded, “What’s the worst that could happen? It’s death. I don’t fear death. I would rather go down fighting for a just cause.

“I would rather be remembered as someone that lived a life that was meaningful rather than someone that, for example, was walking down the road and got run over by a danfo [bus] because he was driving recklessly. Or, someone that got a heart disease and could not save himself because there are no hospitals capable of saving him in Nigeria.”

Falz further explained that he was not afraid of confrontation from state actors over his controversial song, and he was not abroad because of this reason.

He stated that he had released tons of records that were very confrontational, and he was always on the ground when he released these records. He added that he had no reason to fear anything, and anyone could find him if they wanted to.
