Early Life And Education
Bimbo Oshin was born on July 24, 1971, in Ondo State, southwestern Nigeria, as the second to last of Pa Olasanmi Theophilus Oshin’s eight children. Her educational journey began at Saint Anne’s Primary School in Ondo State, followed by Staff Primary School in Ifẹ, Osun State. For her secondary education, she attended Girls Academy, Sandgrouse in Lagos State. Bimbo furthered her studies at the University of Lagos, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Philosophy.
Early Steps Into Acting
Bimbo’s passion for acting emerged early in her life. Even during her undergraduate days at the University of Lagos, she displayed her acting prowess by participating in minor dramas at home with her elder sibling, recording their pseudo videos. Her formal initiation into acting happened in 1996 when a friend’s sister introduced her to the Ara Osan group, a theater group owned by Rasaq Ajao. Bimbo spent four years under her boss, attending rehearsals and honing her craft.
Movie Career Beginnings
Although she initially entered the film industry through English soap operas, Bimbo eventually found her place in the Yoruba movie industry. Her debut movie, “Akobi,” was released in 1997, marking the beginning of her journey to stardom.
