An unfortunate incident has occurred in Kogi State where many people lost their lives and several houses were burnt down. The attack took place in Aloko, a community in Oganenigu Ward of Dekina Local Government Area (LGA).
The assailants, who were reportedly in their dozens, launched their attack on Sunday from a base in the neighbouring Bassa LGA. The invaders started shooting at anyone in sight and set houses on fire upon arrival.
The Oganenigu Ward Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), James Adah, was among those who lost their lives in the attack.
In response to the incident, Governor Yahaya Bello has urged for calm and promised to bring those responsible to justice. He also stated that his administration will continue to work towards eliminating criminal activities in the state.
