Ali Nuhu, often referred to as the King of Kannywood, is a prominent actor, producer, director, scriptwriter, and dancer in the Hausa movie industry. Born on March 15, 1974, in Maiduguri, Nigeria, Ali Nuhu is considered the most consistent face on the screen in Kannywood.

Ali Nuhu attended Riga Special Elementary School for his elementary education before continuing to Government Secondary Commercial School in Kano and Science Secondary School Dawakin for his secondary education. He pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography at the University of Jos and also obtained a diploma in film production and cinematic arts from the University of Southern California. Additionally, he received a diploma from the Asian School of Media studies in New Delhi.

He actively participated in the Dance and Drama Troupe of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) during his one-year mandatory national service in Oyo State. After his service year, he made his professional acting debut in the movie “Abin sirri ne” and gained recognition for his role in the hit film “Sangaya.” Ali Nuhu has since starred in numerous successful movies, including “Azal,” “Jarumin Maza,” “Stinda,” “Danadam Butulu,” “Dijanagala,” “Wasila,” and “Mujadala,” among others. He has appeared in over 500 movies and celebrated his 20th year on-screen in 2019.
