Festus Keyamo, the Minister of State Labour and Employment, has claimed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has become the leading party in the South-East region of Nigeria.
In a recent tweet, Keyamo stated that the APC now has six Senators-elect, the same number as the Labour Party, while the Young Progressives Party (YPP), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) each have one senator-elect. He also noted that the APC has two governors in the region, while the Labour Party, APGA, and PDP each have one.
Keyamo attributed the PDP’s loss of ground in the region to the party taking the people for granted and failing to deliver on their promises. He praised the APC’s South-Eastern members for their efforts in pulling the chestnuts out of the fire and leading the party to become the leading political force in the region.
