Noise Pollution: Lagos State Banned 11 Establishments Including Churches, Mosques, And Other Establishments

The Lagos State government has taken decisive action against noise pollution by releasing a list of establishments that have been banned from operation. The affected establishments include churches, mosques, hotels, an eatery, and a bar located in the Alimosho area of the state.

This development was disclosed by the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) through its official communication channels. LASEPA announced that it has sealed off several establishments in Alimosho due to noise pollution and other environmental infractions.

The establishments that have been affected by these measures include:

  • Sure Word and Power Bible Church
  • Soliheena Central Mosque
  • Mountain of Power Deliverance
  • Cherubim & Seraphim Church
  • Iberuoluwa Mosque
  • Chirozz Hotel
  • Mayoral Hotel
  • West End Lounge & Bar
  • The Establishment Hotel
  • Ayoola Foods

LASEPA stated that these actions were taken to address the identified instances of noise pollution and other environmental violations.

In a related development, Lagos State has secured a significant $1.3 billion investment for the construction of the Fourth Mainland Bridge. This achievement was made possible through collaborative efforts led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and involved partnerships with the African Export-Import Bank and Access Bank.

Governor Sanwo-Olu formalized this momentous agreement during the second Africaribbean Trade and Investment Forum 2023 in Georgetown, Guyana. He expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “It was a significant occasion in Guyana as we have secured a partnership with the African Export-Import Bank and Access Bank for a substantial $1.352 billion investment in Lagos.”

The investment is expected to support critical infrastructure projects, including the Fourth Mainland Bridge, the Omu Creek Project, and the second phase of the LRMT Blue Line from Mile 2 to Okokomaiko.

Governor Sanwo-Olu reiterated the government’s commitment to shaping a brighter future for Lagos and its residents, highlighting other initiatives such as the Lekki-Epe International Airport and the Lagos Food Systems and Logistics Hub in Epe, which are set to drive economic growth and create a lasting legacy for the future.
