During a recent interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program, Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State disclosed that his family members and others voted for Peter Obi of the Labour Party in the presidential election held on February 25th.
According to Governor Umahi, the votes for the Labour Party were not due to Peter Obi’s popularity but rather as a protest vote against the seeming hardship and challenges in Nigeria. He explained that the votes were not a reflection of Peter Obi’s ability to lead but rather a show of dissatisfaction with the current state of the country.
“It was not a vote for His Excellency Peter Obi. As such, there is seemingly hardship and challenges in Nigeria”, he said.
