Senator Smarter Adeyemi has claimed that Bola Tinubu, the All Congress (APC) presidential candidate, did not win the 2023 presidential election in February. Speaking in an interview on Channels Television, Adeyemi stated that he is one of Tinubu’s men and that the former Lagos State governor had won the election long before the polls were conducted.
According to Adeyemi, Tinubu had been preparing for the presidency for over a decade and his victory at the polls was not surprising. He also praised Tinubu, saying that he had invested in people and built strong ties across Nigeria, making him the most trusted candidate to lead the country alongside his running mate, Kashim Shettima.
He said, “I want to tell Nigerians the truth, Tinubu didn’t win election in February, I’m one of his men. I speak my mind at any point in time. And let me tell you the truth, I hold the view that this election was free to a large extent and better than the previous election. Becoming the president of Nigeria is not a child’s play, it is not something you wake up a day or two. You need to have build a network across every corner of this country. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not a man of today, he has been for over decades building relationships, touching lives, networking across the length and breath of this country. Asiwaju is not a man of today, he didn’t win the election today.
